Meet the Dr. Doug’s Bian Stone Gua Sha, a hand-carved stone for slow, soothing body massage. Smooth on your favorite Dr. Doug’s balm, then glide the stone in long strokes. It turns a quick rub-in into a ten-minute ritual, feels great on tired legs, arms and shoulders, and helps promote local circulation.
An easy addition to your everything-shower, recovery or firming routine.
One stone, five working edges
- U-shaped curve: wraps around a calf or a forearm.
- Long, wide edge: covers big, flat areas like the thighs and the back.
- Wavy edge: follows the sides of your torso.
- Fine comb edge: a stronger, textured feel for the places that ask for more.
- Pointed tips: reach small spots, like the arch of your foot.
If your neck and jaw are where the day lands, the smaller Face & Neck stone is shaped for those curves instead.
Which stone is right for you?
- Body Gua Sha: legs, arms, back and shoulders. The everyday pick.
- Face & Neck Gua Sha: smaller and shaped for the neck, jaw and face.
- Complete Set: both stones, head to toe. Our favorite gift.
Why Bian Stone?
Real Bian stone is dense and smooth. It starts cool against your skin and warms as you go, and it’s hard enough to carve the extra working edges this tool has. It has been part of traditional massage for centuries. Cheap resin and pressed-powder “stones” can’t hold this shape.
Key Benefits
- Slow, soothing massage: The smooth edge glides for long strokes over legs, arms and back.
- Helps promote local circulation: Skin looks fresh and feels awake after a session.
- More from your balm: The stone glides on balm, so every session is also a balm ritual.
- Dual-edge design: The smooth edge for gentle strokes; the combed edge for a stronger, textured feel on thighs and hips.
- Feels great on tight spots: A favorite after workouts and long days on your feet.
How to Use
- Balm first: Apply Dr. Doug’s Magnesium Balm so the stone glides. Never use it on dry skin.
- Hold it at a low angle (15–30°) and use gentle strokes toward your heart, the same direction used in lymphatic massage.
- Legs: ankles up to hips. Arms: wrists up to shoulders. Belly: slow clockwise circles.
- Combed edge: for a textured feel on thighs, hips and seat.
- Start light. Your skin may look a little pink after. That’s normal with any pressure massage, and it fades.
Pro tip: dry brush before your shower, then balm and stone after.

- Anyone who wants a calming body-care ritual.
- Athletes after training.
- Anyone building an everything-shower, recovery or firming routine.
